ABOUT GRAND HARBOUR MARINA
Grand Harbour Marina is a premier waterfront destination located in Lagoon City, Brechin, Ontario — on the beautiful east shore of Lake Simcoe. Under new ownership and management, we are transforming this iconic marina community into a destination defined by elevated service, exceptional amenities, and a genuine passion for the boating lifestyle.
At Grand Harbour, every guest interaction is an opportunity to make someone’s day on the water better. Our Fuel Dock Hosts are central to that mission — the first warm face many boaters see when they pull up, and a trusted part of the experience that keeps them coming back.
THE ROLE
As a Fuel Dock Host at Grand Harbour Marina, you are the front line of the boating experience. You’ll greet arriving vessels, assist with safe fueling operations, handle docking lines, and ensure every boater leaves the dock feeling welcomed and well-served. This is a dynamic, outdoor role that blends marine safety, customer hospitality, and dock operations in one of Ontario’s most beautiful marina settings.
No previous marine experience is required — we’re looking for the right attitude, a genuine love of the water, and a commitment to delivering service that reflects the Grand Harbour standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fueling & Dock Operations
• Safely dispense gasoline and diesel fuel to vessels in compliance with all marine fueling protocols and safety procedures
• Assist boaters with docking, line handling, and vessel securing during fueling and short stays
• Monitor fuel levels and supply inventory, reporting replenishment needs to management in a timely manner
• Maintain a thorough understanding of fueling equipment, emergency shut-off procedures, and spill response protocols
• Process fuel payments accurately and professionally using marina point-of-sale systems
• Conduct regular equipment checks on fuel dock systems and report any issues promptly
Guest Experience & Hospitality
• Greet all arriving boaters with professionalism, warmth, and the Grand Harbour standard of hospitality
• Provide accurate information about marina services, amenities, slip availability, and local area attractions
• Anticipate guest needs and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable, positive experience on the water
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and requests with confidence, courtesy, and good judgment
• Represent the Grand Harbour Marina brand in appearance, conduct, and attitude at all times
Dock Cleanliness & Safety
• Maintain the fuel dock, surrounding dock area, and marine approach in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition
• Ensure all safety signage, fire extinguishers, spill kits, and emergency equipment are properly positioned and accessible
• Monitor dock traffic and guide vessels safely during busy periods
• Adhere to all WHMIS, Transport Canada marine fueling, and marina safety standards without exception
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or environmental hazards to management immediately
General Marina Support
• Support the broader marina operations team with light dock maintenance and upkeep tasks as directed
• Assist with seasonal dock setup, closing procedures, and special event support when required
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and visiting boaters

• Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm and composed in a busy waterfront environment
• Must be at least 16 years of age
